The Gowanda Transportation department is dedicated to providing your child a safe and positive experience while they are in our care each day. We realize the impact we have in your child’s life and hope to impart dignity, respect and consideration to every life we touch.

To achieve that goal and be effective open communication is vital to our success.

Our district’s policy only permits changing a student’s daily bus route to an alternate childcare site. Due to custody issues our staff cannot honor requests over the phone unless approved by the transportation supervisor.

When requesting to alter a student’s regular bus route please provide a note to the main office where the student attends classes. The note should include the following information:

1.        Today’s Date

2.       Child’s Name

3.       Caregivers FULL Name

4.       Caregivers COMPLETE, PHYSICAL Address

5.       Caregivers Phone number(s)/Cell number

6.       Purpose for the bus route change

7.       Length of Change (such as “until further notice” or “only for the days of ….”)

8.       Time of change (such as “for morning pick up only”)

9.     Parent/Guardian signature

Additionally, should the need arise to modify your permanent address or add/update phone numbers please contact your child’s Main Office.

With that in mind we invite you contact our department with any concerns or questions that may come to mind. Our office is staffed from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Voicemail is also available after hours for your convenience.
